Thank you for your interest in Pickett County, Tennessee. Pickett County, located atop the Cumberland Plateau, is surrounded by beautiful rolling mountains and is home to Dale Hollow Lake. The people in the area are hardworking and family-oriented. Not only is Pickett County the youngest of the state's 95 counties, it is the smallest in population with 4,945 residents. The latter is a plus because folks still are able to keep their small town values and traditions. The county is located in the Upper Cumberland area north of Cookeville and sits on the Kentucky border approximately halfway between Nashville and Knoxville, Tennessee. Tourism, along with manfacturing provides our economic base.
